2023 was a productive year for SeaLead, marked by expansion and service improvements, contributing to our global presence and operational capabilities.
We participated in TPM 2023, held in February, a leading event for the trans-Pacific and global container shipping and logistics community, at the Long Beach Convention Center. It was a fantastic experience to meet and converse with these key stakeholders in the industry and introduce them to our innovative shipping solutions.
We welcomed Alok Nautiyal as the Global Director – Finance in April, bringing a wealth of experience to drive our financial strategies and growth. In May, our team had an enriching time at Transport Logistic 2023. We shared valuable conversations and had fruitful exchanges with our customers and peers during the event.
Our expansion in South Asia was marked by the inauguration of our Mumbai office in July, led by Shiva Mahadevan, Managing Director for South Asia and the Middle East, enhancing our service capabilities in the region.
Adding to our accolades, in August, we were honoured with the Maritime Sector Incentive (MSI) – Approved International Shipping Enterprise (MSI-AIS) Award by the Singapore Maritime Authority, highlighting our dedication to Singapore’s maritime development.
SeaLead also launched the FIX: Far East to India Express in August. This service promises one of the fastest transit times from China to India’s east coast.
We proudly announced SeaLead’s certification in September as a Great Place to Work® in Singapore, UAE, and USA, reinforcing our commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive work environment. In September, EXPRESS BERLIN, our largest vessel, commence its maiden voyage from Qingdao, showcasing impressive dimensions and a capacity of 10,114 TEUs.
To mark the Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October, SeaLead organised educational campaigns to emphasise early detection and preventive measures. These initiatives, led by our Global Head of HR, provided platforms for sharing personal experiences and resources, demonstrating our commitment to health awareness.
In October, SeaLead also added to its global footprint, celebrating the opening of a 3,400 sq. ft office in Subang Jaya. Spearheaded by Winston Loo, Managing Director for Malaysia, this new office is strategically placed to optimise our operations in Southeast Asia, China, the Middle East, and India.
November saw SeaLead highlighting its container shipping services at the Global Freight Summit 2023 in Dubai, emphasising our role in optimising global trade routes.
A major highlight for our team was the launch of the MEDSA service, a shipping route bridging the Mediterranean and Brazilian ports. This service, introduced in November, features key ports such as Itapoa, Paranagua, Santos, and Casablanca, offering comprehensive coverage and swift transit times.
In December, SeaLead finished the year ranked 18th in the Alphaliner TOP 100 ranking after breaking into the Top-20 earlier in the year.
