Manager Procurement (Feeder Operations)

Job purpose:

·     Procurement and Vendor Management

                                                                                 

Main tasks and responsibilities:

·     Support on all Procurement and Vendors related matter.

·     Coordinate and provide review on the terms and conditions with agencies, liners, and terminals in accordance with the company requirements. 

·     Drive cost improvement and sustainability and ensure good service level from the vendor.

·     Maintaining data base for all contracts agreement. Support the development of cost database for analytics and strategic planning to enable effective data driven procurement approach.

·     Maintain a fair platform for all vendors, and complete financial evaluation of all proposals and coming up with approval proposals.

·     Conduct review and identify areas for cost improvement i.e., tariffs, assessment of market, benchmarking, high frequency of cost occurrence events and service levels through periodic vendor performance appraisals of all vendors.

·     Monitor and Liaison with vendors for contract renewal.

·     Maintain record for annual terminal rebate recovery.

·     Maintain communication and establish good rapport with internal and external stakeholders.

·     Provide support to consolidate statistics for annual agency performance renew.

·     Liaison with 3rd party operators and Lines for slots requirement.

Education requirements:

Language requirements:

Degree / Diploma in Maritime Studies or relevant experience.

English – Fluent (required)

 

Background and experience:

Competencies and skills:                    

 

·       5 – 10 years’ experience within Liner shipping company.

·       Familiar with Liner / Feeder operations.

·       Knowledge of port, harbor, customs activities and procedures, and necessary legal requirements.

·       Knowledge of Terminal operating systems, shipping operations, vessel services and port rotations.

 

·     Good time management skills

·     Analytical, numerical with problem-solving skills

·     Able to work under pressure with tight work deadlines.

·     Negotiation skills.

·     Excellent excel skills.

·     Out of the box thinking.
