We are hiring on behalf of our client, a leading global container liner company, for the position of Executive- Equipment based in Singapore

Executive/ Snr. ExecutiveLine Management

Job purpose: 

  • The Line Executive will be responsible in achieving maximum utilisation of given service while maintaining operating cost at lowest levels. Line Executive will co-ordination with all internal & external parties to achieve setobjectives.  

 

Main tasks and responsibilities: 

 

Efficiency & Accountability: 

  • Achieve maximum utilisation on declared carrying capacity of vessel. 

  • Co-ordinate with internal COC & SOC teams to achieve full and down for vessel loading. 

  • Co-ordinate with vessel command and stowage planners to achieve full and down for vessel loading. 

  • Identify open space opportunity and highlight to SOC sales team well within agreed buffer time line for cargo canvassing. 

  • Achieve on-time and accurate P&L reporting. Manual vs Sap P & L variation to be within 5%. 

  • Work closely with agents to complete tasks prior monthly closing deadlines. 

  • If SOC & COC are unable to utilise vessel space, consider options on space release to partners and empty slot swap with other carriers. 

  • Achieve no error in publication of Long Term Schedule and Coastal schedule. 

  • Both Long Term Schedule and Coastal Schedule (for SLS operated vessels) to be circulated daily basis (Working days). 

  • Circulation Error free Morning Message daily basis. LM to make sure data quality at highest levels with most updated information. 

  • Timely arrangement for bunkers as per procedures through coordination with Bunker Procurement Team. 

  • Avoid excess bunkers on board at time of re-delivery of vessel. 

  • Co-ordinate with agents and vessel commands to minimise bunker consumption. 

  • Work closely with bunker team team for bunker intake at various key port, minimise taking bunker at ports with high bunker price. 

 

Problem Solving: 

  • Work with vessel command and internal teams to close all SDR's on priority. 

 

Communication & Co-ordination: 

  • Conduct weekly meetings with respective key locations and record actionable items/etc., 

  • Work closely with agents to minimize idling time for berthing, flag up any low utilisation situation, timely CBF submission. 

  • Work closely with Liner schedule team to ensure performance report, actualise schedule, schedule update are correctly managed in SAP. 

  • Work closely with DA desk to closed up gap on Port charge & THC cost between SAP & Manual. 

  • Monitor sequence, timeliness and accuracy of Departure, Noon, Arrival and Vessel Performance Report. Verify unfavourable variance. 

  • Co-ordinate with all agents/vessel commands to minimise RV bunker consumption. 

 

 

Project Management: 

  • Active participation of developing all internal & external systems as and when been nominated. 

  • Provide continious feedback to SAP and other application improvements / etc., 

  • Undertake projects of improvement to process which can benefited the company in cost savings or man hours. 

  • Work within deadlines, ensure implementation covers all stakeholders concern and benefit. 

 

Adhoc Tasks: 

  • Plan on board/vessel visits to increase/improve collaboration and coordination for operational efficiency.  

  • Visit to agency office as and when assigned. 

  • Develop knowledge on stowage planning.

Education requirements: 

Language requirements: 

Graduate/ Masters level education, Good computer skills (shipping software, EBMS, related logistics/ shipping/ marine certification, MS Office - Excel) 

English – Fluent (required) 

 

Background and experience: 

Competencies and skills: 

  • 2 - 3 years minimum experience as a Line Executive within Feeder/Liner shipping companies environment. 

  • 3-5 years’ experience within feeder/liner shipping companies 

  • Knowledge of port, r, customs and immigration activities and procedures, and necessary legal requirements. 

  • Knowledge of Terminal operating systems, shipping operations, vessel services and port rotations. 

  • Maintain relationships with shippers, agents, agency, principal, feeders. 

  • Excellent communications & interpersonal skills. 

  • Time management and tional skills. 

  • Analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills when under pressure and with tight work deadlines. 

  • Team management and leadership qualities.
