Senior Executive Trade Management

Department: Trade Management

Location: Singapore

Experience required: 2 - 4 years

Job purpose: 

  • To effectively implement pricing strategies/structures created by senior management in close coordination with relevant stakeholders. 

 

Main tasks and responsibilities: 

  • Understand the types of containers, vessels, and movement of containers.  

  • Clear knowledge of the Liner/Container business. 

  • Effectively handle rate requests from different agents in the SeaLead network. 

  • Effectively consider various factors for special rate approvals (competitor rates, shipper’s current and past volume support, overall booking, and inventory position).  

  • Maintain updated MRGs (Material Requirement Planning) in SAP and relevant systems/portals. 

  • Approve and update the SRR. 

  • Maintain a repository of market rates and keep a record of fluctuations. 

  • Close coordination with stakeholders (Sales, OPS, EQU) 

  • Read contracts and understand the terms and conditions (in conjunction with Documentation & Claims). 

  • Keep the GM-Trade and Global Director-Trade appraised of revenue movements. 

  • Maintain close coordination with Trade Management stakeholders. 

  • Contribute material for the GD-Trade’s monthly report. 

  • Ad hoc tasks and reporting related to Trade Management - as required

Education requirements: 

Language requirements: 

Degree/Diploma or relevant experience. 

English – Fluent (required) 

 

Background and experience: 

Competencies and skills: 

  • Minimum 2 - 4 years relevant experience within a Liner/NVOCC environment. 

  • Knowledge of pricing, revenue management  

  • Knowledge of budgeting, revenue/volume reporting   

  • Time management and organisational skills 

  • Analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills when under pressure and tight work deadlines 

  • Excellent excel skills
